We are a community volunteer organization committed to the promotion of literacy through programs andservices like our annual Literary Walk. We have numerous other programs planned for implementation in the near future. Please see our Planned Programs for additional information. Literary Walkette is dedicated to the promotion of literacy by fosteringcommunication, collaboration, and innovation, to build and strengthen a comprehensive,system for literacy. A unified system that motivates, inspires and educatesboth adults and children,and provides the highest quality of literacy services available. Why A Literary Walk? To encourage participation of artists, authors, general public, sponsors, local merchants and corporate businesses in the promotion of literacy throughan exciting annual event focused on literature and literacy. History Our firstLiterary Walk was in 1999, at that time our organizations volunteer basewas considerable smaller. As the news has spread through out the community,the concept of a literary walk for literacy has meet with wide-spread approvalin virtually ever quarter. We are, however, seeking additional volunteersand openly welcome community members to join in our efforts to promote literacy.
